Picnic & a Cocktail

Let's plan on a midday family picnic followed by a cocktail party in the evening. I've been looking at places from Woodburn to Vancouver that can accommodate 300 attendees:

Here are some event space I've found that sound appealing: Heathman Lodge in Vancouver, The Foundry at Oswego Point in LO, Postlewaits in Canby

If the interest of turn out is closer to 150, here are some of my favorites: DeSoto in Portland, Hayden's Grill in Tualatin, Antonia Ballroom in Canby

  2. Hi y'all - I totally agree with Tim. We should plan for 300. The Foundry looks like a really nice venue and a pretty central location. I also like the afternoon picnic/nighttime cocktail combo. Although I'd remove the "a" before cocktail and add an "s" on the end... ;)

  3. Vancouver might be to far for most although the Heathman is a hotel so that would make it easy for people from out of town and not drinking and driving. Although Lake Oswego is a great central location! Haha I agree with Alison cocktails!

  4. To start I want to acknowledge the fact that a lot has changed since graduation. With that said, I really think we can accomplish everyone's goals in Canby. The location that I think would work best is the Postlewaits farm outside of town. Everyone knows the location, and people who havent been in the great PNW in a few years might feel more comortable navigating through our hometown rather than the streets of Portland, Vancouver... Really? The Postlewaits has Class while also providing the backhome feeling not all CHS Alum get to experience on a regular basis.

  5. Chris, I completely agree with you 100%... I don't see why we should all travel outside of the town we grew up in and/or attended school. Sometimes we forget our roots or where we're from and a class reunion is an opportunity to not only catch up but also be nostalgic. The Postlewait Farm is an AWESOME IDEA!

  6. FYI, Katie and all responding - we do have a small savings budget - I believe Matt Schuh and Stephen Blunk are named on the account. I will check in with them and see how this effects our budget! Also, have we considered organizing a tour of the high school? A lot of renovations have taken place since we graduated and it might just be fun to take a look around at our old stomping grounds?!

  7. Thanks Katie S! Yes, we do have a limited budget, my name is on the account with the boys and I follow the monthly statements. A tour of the school sounds like a great idea!
