One And A Half

Hello all,

We are only one and a half years away from our 10 year reunion. Which means planning will be under way in just a few months. Let's aim for a fun get-together where everyone feels welcome.  What would you like to do for the reunion?

Obviously, we cannot accommodate everyone but if you put your requests out there, we can try!  Thank you for your input.

Also, if you had mentioned you wanted to be on the planning committee, please send an email to:

  1. I think a family BBQ/potluck would be good! In my opinion it may be the best option for everyone. I think less people would attend if we had a formal dinner, and cocktail catch up party may not be for everyone either because some people dont like to drink alcohol. Maybe we could do a mid afternoon BBQ/potluck, and choose, or reserve a place kind of for an "after party" for those who would enjoy having some drinks? Just my thoughts :) What exactly is needed for help? I am in no way crafty, nor can I cook. But I am good at organizing, setting up, help with take down.. etc. I would like to help!

  2. Also my boyfriend, Jim Yeager is a professional photographer, and rents out photo booths. He said he would be willing to donate the photo booth. He usually charges anywhere from $500-$800 depending. All he would need compensated for would be about $100 for the paper, and ink because they cost about that much each time he rents one out. Also if people would like professional pics taken, he specializes in club photography, and wedding photography. So it might be fun to have him running around snapping pics all day/night, and he would upload them to his smugmug sight, and we can all have access to them for facebook, or to print out. Just a thought. unfortunately he could not do it for free because that is his busiest time of year because its wedding season. But he would charge about $250. The only thing is, if he gets booked for a wedding that day, which may be likely if we have the reunion on a summer weekend, he would have to do the wedding instead, otherwise he would be missing out on thousands of dollars. His websight is somethingforever.com, and for more details about his photobooth the websight for that is: Photoboothrentalportland.com. if you all would like to check out his pictures. :) So just to sum things up, he will donate the photobooth, but just would need $100 for supplies, and he will go around snapping pics, and edit them for $250. He usually charges about $600 for something like that. So just let me know what you all think!

  5. Personally, I think it should be a BBQ/kegger (red cups & all) at the Elk's Park in Mulino... BBQ catered by Big Kahuna's BBQ and the meat provided by Ebner's Meats in Canby, possibly get some items donated from Canby Cutsfroth's...........but maybe I'm too country? Families should be welcome and if you don't want to drive after drinking, set up a tent and stay the night! Just an idea :o)))

  6. First off Katie your awesome:) I think it really depends on what kind of budget we have to determine where/what..Nichole- you have to have kids there because us out-of-towners might not be able to find a sitter but maybe we could have child care provided? Elizabeth- great ideas:) except how do i get to mulino again? I think personally we should do it in Canby...not only is it good for Canby's economy but since i dont live close i would rather go home than the crazy city:)I also think donations from fellow Canbodians is a great idea...so my vote is Family BBQ by day and cocktails by night:) I dont know if i can be much help being so far away...but let me know:)

  7. Raelene!!! I agree... I mean, 80% of our graduating class has kids (rough estimate LOL), they might as well meet! Geeez... Plus, it will just be more convenient for families :o) I really enjoy the idea of supporting our local, hometown economy though - why not, ya know?

  8. Lindsay, I may be the only person that does not drink in our class. So thanks for thinking of me. Hahaha just kidding. Anyways I actually like the idea of a bbq/potluck kind of thing. Maybe at MS?

  9. For the most part I think that we should bring back some old school Canby style bawn fire atmosphere... Red cups and all E! I also think that it would be a good idea to have some time for a family friendly event. Ideas I have are some sort of local Canby buisness that could use some economical help, I can help with booking a place if thats what we decide. For the bawn fire I also could make phone calls.

  14. Thanks Raelene and yes MS is Molalla River State Park, Its a big place with lots of picnic tables. I do like the idea my cousin Elizabeth had about the Elks park off of Mulino road but I am not sure if everyone knows where that is. It is really weird that its been 10 years, what a 10 years its been.
